Job summary

J. Davis Construction, a family-owned general contractor serving SC, GA, NC, seeks a Project Executive to lead business development, preconstruction, client services, and project management for a sector. This role drives growth, profitability, and client satisfaction while mentoring staff across the department.

The position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and is based in South Carolina with office options in Anderson, Spartanburg, or Mt. Pleasant.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive commercial construction experience including business development and client relationships.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.
• Experience managing multiple commercial projects and leading project management teams.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, Lump Sum, CM at-Risk, and Design-Build contract delivery methods.
• Demonstrated financial management experience including budgeting, forecasting, and margin oversight.
• Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and client communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead business development, client relations, and pursue new opportunities.
• Oversee project management teams and ensure projects meet schedules and budgets.
• Provide executive oversight of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Review execution plans, contracts, budgets, and ensure quality and safety standards.
• Mentor Project Managers and staff; foster a high-performing team culture.
• Partner with leadership to improve processes and drive operational excellence.
