Job summary

The Hotel at the University of Maryland is seeking a Conference Services Manager to serve as the primary liaison between clients and hotel teams from contract through flawless execution.

This role builds strong client relationships, coordinates event logistics across departments, and ensures every program reflects the Four Diamond standard of service while identifying opportunities to drive incremental revenue.

Qualifications

• Experience in event planning, catering, or hospitality services.
• Strong knowledge of hotel systems (Delphi, Opera, Social Tables) preferred.
• Mastery of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Email).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage budgets and understand contracts.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between the hotel and the client after a group contract is signed.
• Develop and manage detailed event timelines covering F&B, AV, rooming lists, and logistics.
• Create BEOs, diagrams, and event resumes; manage multiple groups and timelines.
• Work cross-functionally with Sales, Accounting, Front Desk, Parking, Culinary, Banquets, AV, and Housekeeping.
• Identify opportunities to drive incremental revenue and ensure client satisfaction.
• Maintain professionalism and presentation in all client interactions.
