Job summary

Watercress Financial is seeking a Collections Specialist to support our accounting operations in West Des Moines, IA. You will contact clients to negotiate payment terms, resolve billing discrepancies, and maintain accurate records of collections activities.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in collections, strong communication skills, and a proactive problem-solving approach. This onsite role offers a Monday–Friday schedule from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM and starting pay at $22 per hour, plus

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related or comparable field preferred
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in a collections position preferred

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries and negotiate payment terms
• Handle collection accounts with speed and accuracy while maintaining professionalism
• Complete collection calls to meet performance standards
• Meet and strive to exceed prescribed performance metrics
• Confirm and negotiate payment arrangements
• Research customer account discrepancies
• Maintain objectives for delinquency, repossessions, and net losses
• Stay informed of policy changes
• Maintain strict confidentiality
• Work flexible schedules, weekends and holidays as necessary
• Escalate complex issues to Team Leader
• Recommend actions on unique collection cases
