Job summary

First Merchants Bank is seeking a Customer Relationship Representative to join our team in Royal Oak, MI. You will handle everyday banking transactions, open deposits, process loan applications, and proactively engage clients to recommend products and digital tools while meeting service and sales goals.

In this role you will deliver high-quality customer service, maintain accurate client records, and contribute to branch success through collaboration, compliance, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year banking or sales experience, with at least 6 months selling products.
• S.A.F.E Act registration required at the time of employment.
• Ability to obtain Notary Public designation.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• In-depth knowledge of bank products across lines.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality customer service by addressing a wide range of banking needs in a fast-paced center.
• Proactively engage clients to understand financial needs and recommend products, services, and digital tools.
• Resolve client inquiries and complaints within scope of authority.
• Maintain accurate client records and support relationship management.
• Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and other routine banking transactions.
• Open new accounts and process loan applications for new and existing clients.
• Support compliance, internal controls, and daily branch operations.
