Job summary

Ice Miller LLP is seeking a Client Special Arrangements Analyst to support full-cycle client accounting, including billing, collections, and financial reporting within the firm’s accounting system.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, cross-functional communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, confidential environment while collaborating with attorneys and practice groups.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Prior experience in a law firm or legal industry strongly preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of electronic billing systems and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle client accounting for assigned partners, including WIP, AR, trust, and unallocated funds.
• Understand client contracts and partner relationships to identify profitability trends and fee arrangements.
• Coordinate with Intake to open matters and resolve related delays.
• Monitor new clients and matters to ensure billing guidelines, formats, discounts, and rate settings are followed with Pricing.
• Collaborate with attorneys to address billing requirements and delinquent or partial billing issues.
• Use the firm’s collections software to monitor outstanding accounts and follow up on invoices 60+ days overdue.
• Support electronic billing systems and communicate needs to the eBilling team.
• Analyze financial data to recommend billing solutions and improvements.
• Educate attorneys on AFAs and assist with implementation.
• Mentor junior billing staff and promote process consistency.
