Job summary

Whitley Penn, a leading accounting, advisory, and assurance firm, seeks an Accounting Senior Manager for our CAAS Outsourced Accounting team in Plano, TX. This role oversees engagements, staffing, and client satisfaction, delivering high-quality financial reporting and advisory services.

Hybrid work with in-office collaboration is expected. Responsibilities include guiding associates through managers, managing budgets and WIP, and driving process improvement and technology adoption across client

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting.
• CPA preferred.
• 8–12 years of progressive experience in public accounting, outsourced accounting, advisory, controllership, CFO, or related roles.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Ability to lead and execute strategically while solving complex accounting, process, data, and systems issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of outsourced accounting and advisory engagements with hands-on involvement in complex accounting matters and month-end close.
• Provide strategic advisory to clients by translating financial data into actionable insights.
• Build and maintain relationships with owners, executives, and finance leaders.
• Assess clients' accounting processes and systems to identify opportunities for standardization and automation.
• Lead selection, implementation, and adoption of accounting tech across client engagements and CAAS practice.
• Plan, scope, schedule, staff, and monitor engagements to ensure timely, accurate deliverables.
• Develop team capabilities through coaching, training, and knowledge sharing.

Education

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting
