Job summary

Whitley Penn seeks an Accounting Associate to join our CAAS – Outsourced Accounting team in Dallas, TX. The role focuses on establishing and maintaining client financial records, month-end close, and preparation of financial statements under supervision.

You will develop proficiency in cloud-based systems (QuickBooks Online) and Excel, while meeting deadlines, communicating effectively, and supporting clients with financial operations. CPA eligibility is preferred and in-office hours apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting.
• CPA eligibility/license preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Responsibilities

• Enter transactions and maintain client financial records from month-end close to financial statements.
• Analyze monthly results with senior accountants and suggest client improvements.
• Develop proficiency in cloud-based accounting systems, including QuickBooks Online.
• Demonstrate strong work ethic, time management, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Build networks and relationships across the Firm and learn Firm processes.
