Whitley Penn in Dallas, TX is seeking an Accounting Associate to join the CAAS – Outsourced Accounting team. You will help maintain client financial records, perform month-end close tasks, and prepare financial statements under supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting.
• CPA eligibility/license preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, demonstrating a progression in complexity, scope, and number of engagement assignments.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining client financial records beginning with entering transactions and progressing through month-end close and the preparation of financial statements.
• Analyze monthly results with senior accountants and offer input for client improvements.
• Develop and exhibit proficiency in a variety of cloud-based accounting systems, including QuickBooks Online.
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic, strong time management skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; assume responsibility for your work and assist others when needed.
• Demonstrate organizational skills and ability to multi-task, requiring a balance of responsiveness to multiple Managers/supervisors.
• Exhibit creativity by expressing new ideas and thinking outside the box; be solution-minded.
• Exhibit strong communication skills, both orally and in writing. Actively listen and clearly communicate ideas and information.
