Job summary

Whitley Penn, a leading audit, tax and advisory firm, seeks a Controller to join the CAAS - Energy Accounting & Consulting team in Dallas–area offices. You will supervise outsourced accounting engagements, develop processes, and train associates while pursuing value-added services for clients.

You will work closely with partners, manage budgets, risk, and client communication to deliver high-quality outcomes and strengthen the firm’s Energy practice.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of Oil & Gas (Upstream/E&P) accounting experience.
• Public accounting or professional services experience is preferred.
• Experience with setting up accounting functions/processes and implementation acumen.

Responsibilities

• Develop tools, systems and processes for Oil & Gas upstream clients.
• Manage multiple engagements and client relationships with external auditors.
• Oversee engagement economics, timelines and quality control.
