Job summary

Whitley Penn, one of the nation's leading audit, tax, and advisory firms, is seeking an CAAS Associate for Outsourced Accounting to join our Dallas team. The role focuses on client bookkeeping, month-end close, and financial statement prep using QuickBooks Online and Excel.

In-office schedule is Monday–Friday with potential overtime. You will work under supervision to build accounting skills across diverse clients, while leveraging cloud-based systems and collaborating with experienced

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting is required or preferred.
• CPA eligibility or license is preferred where applicable.
• 1+ year of bookkeeping or accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Enter transactions and close month-end; prepare financial statements.
• Analyze monthly results with senior accountants and suggest improvements.
• Develop proficiency in cloud-based accounting systems, including QuickBooks Online.
• Demonstrate strong work ethic, time management, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Multitask across Managers/supervisors with strong organizational skills.
• Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing; build internal networks.
• Learn firm processes and participate in programs such as wellness or recruiting.
• Apply best practices for client communications (email, phone, in-person).
• Understand client operations and business objectives to inform engagements.
