Job description

As a Strategic Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive Honeywell's specification and adoption of our complete building automation solutions within the education vertical.

This individual must be a true hunter, capable of building and maintaining strong relationships with key influencers and stakeholders at Architect & Engineers (A&E), Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC), and executive levels of major end users.

You will act as a liaison with engineering, general contracting, and other project influencers to understand project scope and educate stakeholders to ensure all applicable Honeywell products are included in specifications, meeting or exceeding customer requirements.

Work Environment and Territory: You will work remotely when not traveling 50-60% of the time, covering the following states: Oregon, Washington, California, Montana, Utah, New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado, Wyoming, and Idaho. Ideally, candidates should reside within one of these states.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Develop relationships with key stakeholders by educating and acting as a consultant to increase consideration, specification, and adoption of Honeywell technology and solutions.
  2. Establish C-level relationships within 10+ key end users, positioning yourself as a trusted partner for all life safety solutions.
  3. Participate actively in local, regional, and national trade associations to educate stakeholders on these technologies.
  4. Sponsor and present educational sessions as a subject matter expert (SME).
  5. Collaborate with other Honeywell businesses to support joint efforts within key vertical market end users.
COMPENSATION

The annual base salary ranges from $100,000 to $130,000, varying by location and other factors, including experience and responsibilities. In California, New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Connecticut, and Hawaii, this range applies. For Washington and major metro areas in New York and California, the range is similar. This position is eligible for an incentive plan.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • At least 3 years of experience in customer success, account management, or business development.
  • Experience with building automation solutions.
  • Proven ability to generate leads and grow pipelines.
VALUED SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in the education vertical.
  • Experience working with C-level clients.
