Job summary

Qualifications

• Proven outside B2B sales experience in technical/industrial products.
• Experience in BAS, HVAC controls, or industrial automation preferred.
• Excellent relationship-building, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to communicate with contractors and engineers about workflows and priorities.
• Self-starter with energy, resilience, and drive to succeed in the field.
• Business acumen to discuss ROI, lifecycle value, and TCO.
• Willingness to travel 50-75% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Prospect, qualify, and develop new business with contractors, engineers, and facility owners.
• Influence specs early in design phase to deliver smart control solutions.
• Respond to RFPs, craft proposals, negotiate terms, close opportunities.
• Drive account growth through renewals, upsells, and cross-sells.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and service teams to ensure delivery.
• Represent Smart Building Technologies at trade shows and industry events.
• Track pipeline, forecast, and hit sales goals.
