Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in finance, budgeting, or a closely related field with proficiency in budgeting practices, basic accounting, forecasting, spreadsheets, and financial and word processing software.
• Experience with budget development, reporting, and financial/writing documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively, present to officials, and work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and tracks departmental budgets and assists with budget submissions.
• Provides guidance on budget process and performance measures.
• Performs detailed financial analysis and prepares reports for stakeholders.
• Presents reports to Budget Manager and elected officials.
• Maintains data in budget software and creates custom reports.
• Prepares study session summaries, budget resolutions, and presentations for Board of County Commissioners.
• communicates budget impacts to staff and audiences.
