Job summary

The Division of Child Welfare (DCW) within the Colorado Department of Human Services seeks a senior Budget and Policy Analyst. This role delivers high-level fiscal, policy, legislative, and data analysis to support statewide child welfare programs and county services.

It requires independent judgment, strong budgeting skills, and clear reporting to leadership and partners. The position leads allocation modeling, ensures data integrity, and produces strategic analyses to guide resource decisions

Qualifications

• Experience in government budgeting and fiscal analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for policy reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead statewide budget development and execution for DCW programs.
• Oversee data collection, validation, and evaluation of program performance and funding.
• Develop and manage annual and ad hoc reports for leadership and external partners.
• Analyze proposed legislation and regulatory changes affecting DCW funding and programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the division.
