Job summary

Midwest Transit Equipment, Inc. is seeking a Full Time Bid Coordinator for our Kankakee, IL location. The role involves using factory software to calculate pricing for custom buses, building price sheets, and preparing official quotes and bid proposals for customers.

You will manage bid requests, verify requirements, and assist sales with bus options while maintaining compliance with state requirements and dealer terms.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent; bachelor’s preferred.
• Previous bus or truck dealership experience is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with internal and external customers.
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel).
• Knowledge of TOPS is desirable.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Create quotes and proposals using factory software for custom-built buses.
• Build price sheets for new and used buses in stock and manage rebates.
• Review pricing for manager approval and ensure bids meet customer needs.
• Log bid requests, organize files, and gather information for large contracts.
• Place official orders with factories with accurate specs and options.
• Assist sales team with questions about bus options and availability.
