Job summary

Midwest Transit Equipment, Inc. seeks a Full Time Bid Coordinator in Kankakee, IL to manage quotes, proposals, and pricing for customer orders.

You will use factory software to price custom buses, assemble bid packets, track deadlines, and coordinate with sales, operations, and finance to ensure compliant, timely bids. Previous dealership experience and MS Office proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Bus or truck dealership experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with internal and external customers.
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel).
• Knowledge of TOPS software desired.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining service quality.
• Ability to work independently and complete assignments on time.

Responsibilities

• Create quotes and bid proposals using factory software.
• Build price sheets for stock and custom buses.
• Calculate costs for aftermarket items and rebates.
• Place orders with factories using accurate specs.
• Review pricing for manager approval.
• Coordinate with sales, operations and service teams to meet deadlines.
• Prepare and file legal paperwork for contracts.
• Assist with multi-school and statewide group contracts.
