Volkert in Indianapolis, IN seeks a Director of Business Development to lead Midwest regional growth in engineering design and construction management. You will drive marketing, client relations, and strategic pursuits while coordinating cross‑functional teams across operations and services.

The role requires a deep background in engineering or related fields, with 15+ years of industry experience and strong leadership, planning, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, planning, economics, management, or other professional/technical discipline.
• Advanced degree in management or marketing is desirable.
• Professional registration or certification is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with INDOT and/or municipalities is required.
• A minimum of 15 years of Industry Experience.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
• Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and collaborates on all business development activities within assigned operations and services.
• Assist the team with winning new business.
• Leads strategies to identify customer requirements and new opportunities.
• Develop and maintain client relationships, including prospecting and presenting services.
• Lead and coordinate market research, capture plans, and proposal strategies.
• Plan trade shows, conferences, and client events with marketing and operations teams.
