Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking a Director of Business Development and Key Account Management to drive the US Mammalian Technology contract manufacturing strategy for BioXcellence in the Bay Area, with a focus on the West Coast. The role includes expanding new accounts, leading cross-functional teams, and representing BI at global conferences.

Travel to meet client needs and BI milestones may be required. The position is anchored in the San Francisco Bay Area with reporting to the Fremont

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Science/Engineering required; advanced degrees or MBA preferred.
• 8+ years of new business development, sales, or marketing in pharma or related industry preferred.
• Biologics and/or US governmental CMO experience required.
• 4–6 years project management experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication including public speaking.

Responsibilities

• Scout and screen potential US customers and products through extensive networking across channels.
• Lead as the primary contact for new and established accounts and guide the BioXcellence acquisition process.
• Serve as Account Manager for selected accounts and products, leading account business teams.
• Manage account relationships, understand client needs, and act as ambassador within BI network.
