Job summary

Novo Nordisk Cambridge is seeking an Associate BD Director to evaluate external growth opportunities and, when appropriate, execute transactions to access assets of interest. You will interface with therapeutic area leads, evaluation teams, and senior management within a matrix organization.

In this role you will lead diligence, negotiate term sheets, and prepare business cases and presentations for RPComm and deal groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree strongly preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant experience required; pharma/biotech experience preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership to lead diligence teams.
• Demonstrated experience presenting to senior management.
• Strong record of preparing deal comparables and crafting deal terms.
• Competency negotiating academic licenses and small outlicensing/sublicensing opportunities.
• Proven ability to lead deal through all stages with guidance.
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport with therapeutic and functional area leaders.
• Strong analytical skills for financial evaluations.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Ability to navigate internal dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Leads cross-functional evaluations of therapeutic programs from preclinical through clinical stages.
• As Project Manager, leads diligence teams with multiple disciplines for proposals to senior management.
• Supports negotiations in large business transactions; leads term sheet and contract negotiations for smaller deals.
• Participates in strategy planning and training of junior team members on deal processes.
• Prepares materials for BD/Deal group presentations and communicates core deal elements to senior management.
• Collaborates with R&D and Search & Evaluation to build business cases for opportunities.
