Novo Nordisk Cambridge is the global hub for Global Business Development, focusing on external partnerships, collaborations and acquisitions. The Associate BD Director evaluates opportunities and leads diligence with cross-functional teams, interfacing with therapeutic area heads and senior management to shape deal strategy.

This role sits at the center of R&D and commercial decision-making, guiding term sheets, negotiations, and presentations to executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree strongly preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical/biotech environments.
• Strong communication and leadership to guide diligence teams.
• Experience presenting to senior management.
• Proven ability to prepare deal comparables and craft deal terms.
• Experience negotiating academic licenses and small outlicensing/sublicensing.
• Proven ability to lead deals through all stages with guidance.
• Ability to build rapport with therapeutic and functional leaders.
• Strong analytical skills for financial evaluations.
• Ability to identify and prioritize risks across functions within a matrix organization.
• Ability to motivate others and manage multiple projects in a fast-changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional evaluations of therapeutic programs from preclinical to clinical stages across multiple assessment areas.
• Act as Project Manager, guiding diligence teams to ensure inputs for senior management decisions.
• Lead term sheet and contract negotiations for small to mid-size deals.
• Contribute to strategy planning and provide inputs for governance and investment decisions.
• Prepare materials and present key business aspects of deals to senior management.
