Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Collections Specialist to manage and collect outstanding accounts receivable, protect cash flow, and minimize bad debt. You will communicate with clients to negotiate plans, resolve issues, and ensure timely payments.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience, 2+ years in B2B collections, and strong Excel and communication skills. This full-time position offers a comprehensive benefits package and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and applications.
• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Protects Accounts Receivable assets using good judgment and risk assessments.
• Emails and calls customers to collect past due balances according to portfolio assignment.
• Records collection information on customer’s accounts in databases.
• Creates promises to pay in database when confirmed payment commitments are received.
• Responsible for customer account maintenance and ensuring updates are implemented in databases.
• Collaborates with internal and external customers to resolve delinquent invoices and discrepancies.
• Collects payments via credit card by phone or email following guidelines.
• Manages customer accounts: research, reconciling, and resolution of balances and unapplied payments.
• Supports and communicates with area managers, billing, contracts, management and other departments.
