Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage invoicing, cash application, collections, and account reconciliations. The role collaborates with Sales, Customer Service, and Operations to resolve billing issues and maintain healthy cash flow.

The candidate should be organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle high-volume transactions while communicating with commercial customers. Office-based role in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of two years' accounts receivable or related financial operations experience.
• Experience with billing, cash application, reconciliation, and collections.
• Proficiency with Excel, Outlook and Word; experience with accounting software/ERP.

Responsibilities

• Generate and distribute customer invoices accurately and timely.
• Process customer payments by check, ACH, wire, credit card, and other methods.
• Apply payments accurately to customer accounts.
• Prepare and reconcile daily cash receipts and bank deposits.
• Maintain accurate customer account records.
• Monitor AR aging and identify overdue accounts.
• Contact customers regarding outstanding balances while maintaining relationships.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, deductions, and unapplied cash.
• Process credit memos, adjustments, and refunds with approvals.
• Coordinate with Sales, Customer Service, and Operations to resolve issues.
• Reconcile AR subledger to GL and prepare related journal entries.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close and AR reporting.
• Support audits with required documentation and controls.
