Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Credit and Collections Specialist in Wylie, TX. This 100% onsite, contract role focuses on coordinating invoice collections, applying cash, and supporting accounts receivable activities for a construction and industrial supply distributor.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in credit, collections, or accounts receivable; 5 years preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of accounts receivable processes and collections best practices.
• Experience in an ERP system for credit, collections, or AR activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and cash application.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially for delinquent accounts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with customers and internal teams.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with customers and sales teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate invoice collections and ensure timely payment from B2B customers.
• Monitor customer accounts to keep them within agreed credit terms.
• Analyze delinquent accounts and initiate collection efforts.
• Perform cash application and apply payments to invoices.
• Resolve account discrepancies by researching issues and communicating with stakeholders.
• Improve receivable turnover through proactive follow-up and clear communication.
• Collaborate with branch leadership, sales, and other departments on collection strategies.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers and teams.
• Escalate financial concerns to management when needed.
• Support invoicing portal cleanup and ERP implementation-related tasks.
• Enter and maintain accurate data in ERP systems and related platforms.
• Utilize credit applications and credit analysis processes for decisions.
• Participate in job accounting and distribution-related tasks as needed.
