Job summary

OpenAI's Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) team seeks a Technical Deployment Lead to define and own delivery of complex customer systems. Based in San Francisco, you will translate business outcomes into a technical plan, manage day-to-day execution across FDEs, Researchers, and Customer Engineers, and ensure on-time, adoptable deployments.

You will embed with customer teams to map workflows, drive delivery, and share field insights to guide product and research roadmaps.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of customer-facing technical delivery leadership.
• Experience leading large, complex, high-stakes customer engagements.
• Ability to translate business outcomes into technical plans and roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the technical delivery plan for multi-stream deployments.
• Embed with customer teams to land production deployments and drive adoption.
• Lead onboarding, change management, and cross-functional collaboration with Product and Research.
