Job summary

OpenAI’s Forward Deployed Engineering team is seeking a senior leader to drive end-to-end delivery of complex AI deployments for customers. You will embed with customer teams, map workflows, define roadmaps, and ensure on-time shipping and adoption of production systems.

You will own the delivery plan, manage dependencies, and coordinate across FDEs, researchers, and customer engineers. This is a high-trust, autonomous role based in San Francisco with travel up to 50% and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of customer-facing technical delivery leadership.
• Experience leading large, complex, high-stakes customer engagements, ideally involving AI.
• Ability to operate in high ambiguity and translate business needs into technical plans.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical delivery plan for multiple interdependent work streams with milestones and acceptance criteria.
• Run day-to-day engineering execution across OpenAI FDE and customer teams; keep progress unblocked.
• Embed with customer teams to land production deployments and drive adoption; lead onboarding and change management.
• Partner with Product and Research so platform components land in time to support deployment goals.
• Codify solution patterns and extract reusable field signals to improve product and models.
