Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Strategy and Ops Lead for the Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) team. You will build and evolve systems that enable execution at scale, turning signals from the field into actionable plans and staffing decisions.

You will run portfolio reviews, quarterly planning, and operating rhythms, ensuring leadership has visibility into risks and delivery progress as the organization scales. Hybrid work in SF/NYC with relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in technical program management, engineering operations, or related operator roles supporting technical teams in fast-paced environments.
• Built 0→1 operating mechanisms that scaled a technical team during rapid growth.
• Able to align conflicting priorities and drive teams toward measurable outcomes at pace.

Responsibilities

• Own core operating rhythms for the FDE team, including portfolio reviews and quarterly planning.
• Translate pipeline and active project demand into staffing forecasts and capacity plans.
• Coordinate customer engagements staffing across GTM and FDE, balancing value, scope and capacity.
• Provide clear visibility into priorities, risks, dependencies, and decisions for leadership.
