Job summary

Cengage Group is seeking a Sales Consultant to support the Strategic Accounts Team and Regional Directors in Rhode Island. The role involves content mapping, system updates, order processing, billing reviews, and contract alignment to enable revenue-generating activities.

Responsibilities include maintaining Salesforce data, preparing opportunity analyses, and coordinating with cross-functional partners to ensure effective sales coverage and renewal potential across assigned territories.

Qualifications

• BA or BS degree strongly preferred.
• At least two years of successful sales or customer interaction experience.
• Experience with Salesforce or other contact management systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and support selling strategies in partnership with sales leadership and other sales personnel.
• Provide day-to-day administrative support enabling sales teams to focus on customer engagement and revenue-generating activity.
• Update and maintain Salesforce including opportunity, account, contact, activity, and territory information.
• Pull and organize CRM and Sales Operations reports to support opportunity analysis, territory planning, forecasting, and follow-up.
• Assist with contract alignment, order processing and review, billing questions or reviews, and related customer or internal follow-through.
• Manage and support content mapping exercises and other customer-specific sales support activities.
• Support marketing and sales initiatives as they relate to account development, customer engagement, and territory execution.
• Coordinate effectively with Sales Management, Account Directors, Customer Success, Solutions Specialists, and other cross-functional partners.
• Identify process gaps, customer trends, or recurring needs and communicate recommendations to improve sales execution or customer support.
