Job summary

CIBC US is seeking a seasoned Asset-Based Lending Business Development Manager in Chicago. You will identify and close high-quality ABL transactions, expand CIBC's cross-sell opportunities, and cultivate relationships with intermediaries, sponsors, and middle-market clients.

The role requires extensive travel, a strong referral network, and collaboration with underwriting and portfolio teams to drive new business and client value.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of asset-based lending experience.
• At least 5 years as a business development officer in Commercial/ABL lending.
• Deep understanding of the ABL industry, market structures and competition.

Responsibilities

• Prospect new ABL clients and drive new business through a wide referral network.
• Engage with prospects to assess needs and deliver appropriate ABL solutions; maintain CRM pipeline.
• Assist in structuring deals and act as strategic advisor to clients as needed.
• Partner with Portfolio Managers during analysis, negotiations and deal execution.
• Develop and maintain centers of influence within the targeted market.
