Job summary

CIBC is seeking an experienced asset-based lending professional to identify and close high-quality transactions. The role focuses on expanding CIBC's presence with commercial banking, capital markets, wealth management, and real estate offerings.

You will drive new client acquisition through intermediaries, referrals, direct prospecting, and financial sponsors, targeting middle-market and entrepreneur-led businesses. Proficiency in CRM and deal structuring is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required.
• Minimum of 10 years of ABL experience.
• Minimum of 5 years as a business development officer for a Commercial or ABL lender.
• Deep understanding of asset-based lending industry, market structures, and competition.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop high-quality asset-based lending transactions.
• Deliver new clients through intermediaries, referrals, and direct prospecting.
• Prospect middle-market, entrepreneur-led/private, publicly traded, and financially sponsored businesses.
• Develop and maintain CRM records for pipeline forecasting.
• Promote CIBC within the community and industry associations.
• Collaborate with Portfolio Managers to provide client service.
• Assist in structuring deals and negotiations to meet client and bank requirements.
