Job summary

Consor is seeking a Drainage Design Engineer in Austin to apply hydrologic and hydraulic principles to planning, analysis, and design of drainage infrastructure for transportation projects. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and senior engineers to develop stormwater management solutions, including storm sewers, culverts, detention facilities, and roadway drainage networks.

You will perform analyses, prepare calculations, develop plans and technical reports, and ensure compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• 5–10 years of transportation drainage experience with TxDOT projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Proficiency in MicroStation ORD, AutoCAD, and Civil3D software.
• Experience in proposal writing or marketing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review drainage design plans, calculations, and reports for transportation projects.
• Apply drainage standards and agency guidelines to ensure compliance and constructability.
• Perform hydrologic analyses, culvert sizing, drainage modeling, cost estimates.
• Use modeling software to evaluate drainage performance and flood risk.
• Coordinate with roadway, structural, environmental teams, clients, and reviewing agencies.
• Support QA reviews and respond to drainage-related design comments during plan development.
