Job summary

The City of Frisco is seeking a Stormwater Engineer to manage drainage capital improvement projects, review plans for roadway and development projects, and assist citizens with drainage issues. This role oversees floodplain topics and coordinates with federal, state, and local agencies.

Key duties include preparing contracts, guiding consultants, inspecting sites, and developing design standards to ensure compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and five years of experience or equivalent combination.
Must possess a Professional Engineer License. If PE, license must be Texas Registered within 6 months (as applicable).
Must obtain Certified Floodplain Manager license within one year.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check and MVR check.
Must possess State of Texas Driver's License.

Responsibilities

Maintains watershed master plans and acts as a project manager on master planning efforts.
Provides direction to and manages consultants on drainage capital improvement projects.
Oversees floodplain issues, reviews flood studies and serves as Floodplain administrator.
Reviews and approves construction drawings for private development projects.
Assists in developing ranking systems for drainage projects and improvements.
Works with agencies to ensure regulatory standards are met.
Submits annual reports to the National Flood Insurance Program and maintains records.
Provides technical guidance to developers, engineers and contractors.
Assists with design manuals, ordinances and procedures.
