Job summary

The City of Mansfield is seeking a Project Engineer I – Drainage Engineer to coordinate drainage, stormwater, floodplain, and related civil engineering efforts. You will serve as Floodplain Administrator and help manage the Drainage Capital Plan, interpreting ordinances and standards while guiding development review and capital projects.

You'll collaborate with developers, consultants, and regulatory agencies, conduct field inspections, and ensure designs meet safety and performance criteria.

Qualifications

• Licensed PE in Texas required.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering; 4+ years experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate drainage-related capital projects from planning through closeout.
• Prepare drainage reports, floodplain studies, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with developers, regulators, and the public on drainage and floodplain matters.
• Conduct field reviews and inspections of drainage infrastructure.
• Assist with floodplain administration and plan reviews.
