Job summary

City of Frisco is seeking a Civil Engineer to supervise and review capital improvement and development projects, ensuring compliance with City standards. You will guide consultants, apply design specs, and manage contracts through all project phases.

The role requires a PE license in Texas or ability to obtain within 6 months, along with a relevant degree and several years of experience. A valid Texas driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field and a minimum of five years of experience; or an equivalent combination.
• Must possess a Texas Registered Professional Engineer License or be able to obtain within six months of employment.
• Pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check and MVR check.
• Must possess a valid State of Texas Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Manages all phases of assigned private development and capital projects.
• Provides direction to consultants regarding plan reviews, construction specs, and reports.
• Applies consistent design standards and specifications to meet City standards.
• Develops, implements and monitors professional services and construction contracts.
• Verifies work completed and processes related design and construction payments.
• Negotiates changes with contractors and reviews change orders.
• Prepares council agenda items for capital or private development projects.
• Conducts site inspections during all construction phases.
