Job summary

The City of Mansfield seeks a Project Engineer I – Drainage Engineer to coordinate drainage, stormwater, floodplain, and related civil engineering activities. This role serves as the Floodplain Administrator and helps manage the Drainage Capital Plan.

You will review plans, perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, liaise with developers and agencies, and support field inspections. Bachelor's in civil engineering, Texas PE license, and 4+ years' experience are required; experience with iSWM and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas.
  • 4+ years of civil engineering design, drainage analysis, floodplain analysis, development review, or related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate drainage-related capital improvement projects from planning through design, bidding, construction administration, inspection coordination, and closeout.
  • Prepare drainage reports, floodplain studies, and related engineering documents.
  • Coordinate with developers, consultants, contractors, regulatory agencies, and the public regarding drainage, stormwater, floodplain, and construction matters.
  • Conduct field reviews and inspections of project-related infrastructure.
  • Assist with development and maintenance of the Drainage Capital Plan and floodplain administration.

Education

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas
4+ years civil engineering experience
