Job summary

The City of Arlington is seeking a Civil Engineer / Graduate Engineer to join the Stormwater Engineering Operations group. This role supports drainage studies, design reviews, project management, and contract administration to ensure compliant stormwater infrastructure and floodplain management.

Under supervision of a Professional Engineer, you’ll analyze data using GIS, hydrologic/hydraulic tools, and prepare technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited college/university.
• Preferred: PE license or ability to transfer to Texas within six months.
• TFMA Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) or ability to obtain within one year.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital improvement projects from initiation to completion.
• Review drainage studies, project plans, and other engineering submittals.
• Perform contract administration: budgets, payments, changes, and closeouts.
• Conduct field visits and document site conditions for compliance.
• Prepare technical materials, calculations, and reports for planning and design decisions.
