Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a dedicated climber to manage tree pruning and removal tasks. You will climb trees using ropes, perform pruning, and assist in storm-related vegetation work while maintaining strict safety protocols and equipment checks.

Qualified applicants will have climbing experience, knowledge of rigging, and the ability to work at heights under varying weather. This full-time role includes benefits and requires passing a background check.

Qualifications

• Must know knots, ropes, and rigging devices used in tree trimming/removal (all knots/rigging covered).
• Capable of climbing/descending trees with rope and safety saddle.
• Able to perform emergency rescue techniques and basic first aid.
• Aware of electrical hazards and safe procedures near conductors and aloft rescue.
• Comfortable working at great heights in varied weather.
• Physically fit with good balance and depth perception; can hear instructions.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and enforce them on site.
• Climb, prune, and remove trees per Foreperson's directives.
• Load/unload logs, brush, debris; feed brush into chipper.
• Work from ground using hand tools and gas-powered saws.
• Inspect tools/equipment and maintain safe condition.
• Ensure area safety and communicate with crew.
• Perform storm-work duties as needed.
