Job summary

Goodwill San Antonio is seeking an Assistant Manager to help lead our retail store and donation operations. Reporting to the General Manager, you will supervise team members, coordinate schedules, train staff, and uphold safety, ethics and customer service standards.

You will drive revenue and efficiency, monitor merchandising, assist with HR processes while supporting mission delivery and community impact, and respond to emergencies after hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience supervising production and/or retail operations.
• Experience in non-profits and human services work environments a strong plus.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills in Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance; ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Co-leads retail store teams and co-manages effective store and donation operations.
• Ensure safety, ethics and quality within store operations.
• Provide leadership, training, guidance and support to team members.
• Develop staffing models and scheduling procedures to optimize operations.
• Meet budgeted revenue, net income, and other goals; provide variance analysis.
• Coordinate with HR on rewards, promotions, transfers and dismissals.
• Respond to emergency calls during and after store hours.
