Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a store leadership professional to plan, direct and supervise daily operations. You will mentor staff, drive sales, ensure exceptional customer service, and maintain store standards across departments.

You will coordinate staffing, training, and promotions while managing budgets and losses. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and Meijer’s customer-centric philosophy, with opportunities for advancement within the company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas are helpful.
• Clear direction and effective communication with the team.
• Ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information for decisions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Serve as mentor and coach for all team members.
• Implement strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales.
• Maintain store appearance focused on prime shopping hours and product presentation.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and development needs for team members.
• Document disciplinary actions and advise on discharge decisions.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Ensure team training and required certifications are completed.
• Spend majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members.
• Promote and reinforce safe work environment and Meijer standards.
