Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a store leadership role responsible for planning, directing, and supervising daily operations across departments.

You will mentor and coach team members to deliver exceptional customer service, while implementing strategies to improve sales and maintain store standards. You will oversee staffing, hiring, and development, promote succession planning, and ensure compliance with training and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and address root cause issues.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members and lead staff safely.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations across departments.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet customer needs and service standards.
• Develop strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales while maintaining prime shopping hours and presentation.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and career development for team members, including promotions and training.
