Job summary

Steve Madden is seeking a Store Assistant Manager (full-time) to work alongside the Store Manager in all store operations. You will guide, develop, and motivate a team of brand advocates to deliver an exceptional customer experience aligned with the brand values.

You will partner to maximize profitability through customer engagement, merchandising, and compliance with standards, while overseeing training, inventory, visual merchandising, and store administration.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of retail experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to coordinate people, resources, and services to address business goals and needs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of retail operations including sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory control, store budget preparation, and loss prevention.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Understanding of how to develop staff with experience in staffing, coaching, counseling, etc.
• Ability to process information or merchandise through the computer system and POS register system.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Store Manager to maximize profitability by ensuring customer engagement, merchandising, operations, and community connection are aligned with company standards.
• Create amazing customer experiences through strong client focus and collaboration, ensuring the team is motivated to deliver memorable experiences.
• Partner with the Store Manager to implement visual merchandising directives to maintain brand strategies.
• Ensure appropriate replenishment of merchandise on the selling floor.
• Assist in loss prevention and safety policy adherence and company directives.
• Assist Store Manager in training, operations, sales, visual merchandising, inventory management, and store administration.
• Foster development and accountability within the team.
• Process information or merchandise through the computer system and POS register system.
• Assist Store Manager in selecting and hiring qualified candidates.
• Be flexible and occasionally perform work outside your specific role.
