Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development at our Union, New Jersey location. This role involves assisting with daily activities, organizing merchandise transfers from delivery to floor, and upholding store standards with a focus on safety and guest satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, retail management experience, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store operations and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in organizing, transferring merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Follow policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff complies.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness and restocking of bathrooms, floors, and general areas.
• Contribute to other duties as assigned.
