Job summary

Dollar Tree seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development in New Jersey. You will assist with day-to-day store activities and support the Store Manager in supervising and developing Store Associates.

The role requires the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, strong communication and teamwork, and a commitment to maintaining clean, organized store areas and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize, transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, cash handling), and loss prevention
• Maintain areas of the store, including a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Maintain cleanliness, including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation
• Other duties as assigned
