Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development at our Prospect Park, NJ location.

You will assist with daily store activities, organize merchandise, and help supervise and train Store Associates, while ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and team members. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills and physical ability to lift up to 55 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, ability to read and interpret directives.
• Retail/store management experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks like walking, standing, stooping, and kneeling.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Provide friendly, helpful customer service and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain storefront fixtures and displays for promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, and basic record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom per company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Follow policies and procedures and ensure staff adherence.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment with positive interactions with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, bathrooms, floors, and waste removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
