Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an experienced retail leader to staff, train, and develop team members while delivering excellent customer service. You will oversee hiring, coaching, scheduling and promotions to maintain strong store performance.

You will monitor P&L, drive sales, reduce shrink, and ensure compliance with Meijer standards. Strong communication and leadership are essential for success in this role, with a focus on safety and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in retail management and staff development is preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly with team members and leadership.
• Proven conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to analyze basic financial and store statistics.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and train staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Manage staffing, selection, and hiring to meet store needs.
• Promote career paths and development, including promotions decisions.
• Document disciplinary actions and advise on discharge decisions.
• Oversee P&L, drive sales, and maintain shrink targets.
• Model exceptional customer service and Meijer standards.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings and conversations.
• Mentor and coach team members to exceed service and sales goals.
• Ensure training completion and store-wide readiness.
• Maintain a safe work environment and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
