Job summary

Ross Stores is seeking a Security Specialist to protect associates and customers at our California store. This role requires a visible presence at entrances, safety focus, and close partnership with store leadership to enforce Loss Prevention directives.

Responsibilities include monitoring for theft indicators, training associates on shortage reduction, upholding Ross brand standards, and complying with applicable laws. High School diploma and security training are preferred.

Qualifications

• One year retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred.
• One year loss prevention/security training preferred.
• Active Security Guard License preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with the Store team.
• Excellent Customer service skills.
• Proven ability to effectively resolve conflict.
• Must be able to comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations for security positions, including but not limited to, additional background screening, physical examination, fingerprinting and/or drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for Associates and Customers.
• Provide visible "command" presence at store entrances/exits and on sales floor, in a company issued vest/attire.
• Monitor for potential safety issues and assist Store Leadership.
• Support Loss Prevention initiatives and minimize shortage.
• Represent the Ross brand with professional appearance and conduct.
• Monitor entrances/exits and sales floor for theft indicators; communicate findings to leadership.
• Involve/train Associates on shortage reduction initiatives and checkout procedures.
