Job summary

Ross Stores is seeking a vigilant Loss Prevention Specialist to maintain a safe, secure store environment at our California locations. You will monitor entrances, greet customers with confidence, and deter theft while partnering with Store Leadership to enforce policy.

This role requires teamwork, excellent communication, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced retail setting. A High School diploma is required; an AA degree is preferred. Prior retail supervision or security training is a plus.

Qualifications

• One year retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred.
• One year loss prevention/security training preferred.
• Active Security Guard License preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with the Store team.
• Excellent Customer service skills.
• Proven ability to effectively resolve conflict.
• Must be able to comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations for security positions, including but not limited to, additional background screening, physical examination, fingerprinting and/or drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for Associates and Customers, including store entrances/exits and sales floor.
• Provide visible command presence and greet customers with eye contact.
• Collaborate with Store Leadership to minimize operational shortage and enforce Loss Prevention directives.
• Monitor for potential theft indicators and communicate findings to leadership.
• Represent the Ross brand with professional appearance and behavior.
• Assist in training Associates on shortage reduction initiatives and safety procedures.
