Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. is seeking a Security Specialist to protect customers and Associates at store level across California.

This role emphasizes visible presence at entrances/exits, monitoring for theft indicators and supporting Loss Prevention directives. You will greet customers, enforce safety procedures, and collaborate with Store Leadership and partners to minimize shortages while upholding the Ross treasure and brand standards.

Qualifications

• One year retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred.
• One year loss prevention/security training preferred.
• Active Security Guard License preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with the Store team.
• Excellent Customer service skills.
• Proven ability to effectively resolve conflict.
• Must be able to comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations for security positions, including but not limited to, additional background screening, physical examination, fingerprinting and/or drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe and secure environment for Associates and Customers.
• Provides visible command presence at store entrances/exits and on the sales floor.
• Removes clutter and ensures safe egress to emergency exits.
• Provides great Customer service by greeting Customers, making eye contact, and answering questions.
• Treats all Customers and Associates with respect.
• Demonstrates courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times.
• Regular involvement with internal and external partners and trainings.
• Other duties as assigned to support Loss Prevention initiatives.
• Represents and supports the Ross brand at all times.
• Maintains professional appearance per dress code.
