Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, inventory, and team development in Westborough, MA. You will assist with opening/closing, merchandise transfers, and loss prevention while ensuring store standards.

The role requires strong communication, ability to lead a small team, and a commitment to a safe, friendly shopping environment. A high school diploma is preferred; prior store management in retail is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain storefront fixtures and displays for promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling), and loss prevention.
• Maintain well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness of the store, restocking bathrooms, sweeping/mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat.
