Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead all store operations, staffing and performance management in a fast-paced retail setting. You will oversee hiring, training, inventory control and customer service to meet company standards and drive profitability.

The role requires strong leadership, adherence to policies, and the ability to work to keep the store open, stocked and compliant with safety rules. Dollar General offers growth within a nationwide network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and POS systems.
• Ability to recruit and train staff in line with policies.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees per federal and state laws and company policies; ensure staffing levels.
• Provide proper training for employees; conduct performance evaluations; identify gaps and counsel or terminate as needed.
• Make recommendations on pay rates and advancement for staff.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; coordinate meetings to reinforce policies.
• Open and close the store consistently to meet daily requirements.
• Oversee inventory planning, ordering, stock levels and cycle counts.
• Ensure proper merchandising, pricing and signage; maintain inventory accuracy.
• Uphold cashier accountability, key control and cash-handling procedures.
• Provide strong customer service leadership and a safe, organized store environment.
