Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead all aspects of store operations, including staffing, training, inventory, cash control, and customer service. You will ensure daily open/close procedures, manage performance, and enforce company policies.

This role requires adapting to a fast-paced retail environment and driving sales while safeguarding assets. Strong communication, organizational skills, and a valid driver’s license are needed; prior retail management experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to laws and policies; ensure store is staffed.
• Provides training, conducts evaluations, identifies gaps and counsels up to termination.
• Recommend pay rates and advancement opportunities.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
• Open/close the store with required frequency; ensure daily operations run smoothly.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities; monitor expenses and shrink.
• Order to meet in-stock targets; manage BSR/cycle counts weekly.
• Stock and present merchandise per company standards; manage pricing and signage.
• Maintain inventory accuracy against damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Ensure cash control and security practices are followed; maintain cashier accountability.
• Deliver superior customer service leadership and a safe store environment.
• Ensure tools and equipment are available to perform tasks.
